It’s inescapable. Artificial intelligence (AI) is impacting many professions at seemingly break-neck speeds. I found this recent article by John B. Stephens on how some community mediation (CM) leaders perceive the potential risks and benefits of AI in their field to be very interesting and a great conversation starter. Of note, Stephens points out, “However, CM leaders may need to reassess their view that AI is comparatively less competent in understanding and responding to the cultural and emotional components of CM practice if AI platforms capable of emulating emotional intelligence are developed, as some AI leaders claim has already been accomplished.”
